I turned our home into a showplace without breaking the bank. Being frugal is a talent that can be conquered by many. All you need to do is be patient and have time to plunder. Why does decorating matter to me? For starters, a home is a sanctuary, my sanctuary! It’s a place where we go to escape the craziness of the world, it’s our space where peace matters, OUR PEACE… Its screams relax and let it be.
I’m a firm believer that our surroundings will affect our moods. If a home is cluttered, unorganized, and dirty your mood will reflect as such. This will stress you out and leave you feeling unsettled. Having a home that is organized and decluttered will give you a sense of peace and stability.
Sometimes decorating expenses can get out of hand and become very expensive so use your imagination and challenge yourself to find unique items that are of interest to you. First you need to make a plan before you start shopping. Ask yourself these questions, ~what is my budget? ~ what style am I seeking? ~ And what can I use that I already have? I would also recommend focusing on one room at a time so you can master the look you want. If need be, rearrange furniture, move furniture away from window to open up a room, try angling furniture maybe a sofa diagonally across a corner with a large plant behind it on a stand. Just some easy ideas. So, let’s go shopping and find some treasures.

Everything you see in the photo I spent less than $15.00. Pairing items into three’s gives a good blend and the tassel just adds a unique touch.

Here I used old books what were free, added a small frame and tassel. No money spent here on this display. Utilized what I had.

Shopping for luxury home items doesn’t have to break you, retailers like Home Goods, TJ Maxx and yes some good ole thrift stores can assist you in all your decorative needs. Decorating on a budget can be in my opinion loads of fun. Use and rearrange items you have, put items in different places around your room, and notice a quick transformation.
I use a lot of antique coffee or tea pitchers and add flowers or artificial grapes with greenery to accent the piece. You can also use large photo holders to display beautiful platters or framed art. It’s the small items that can make a big impact. So, with this being said have fun, save yourself some money and be thrifty in your choices. Decorating can be therapeutic. The beauty in decorating is to transform your space with a small investment or reimaging what you already have. It is with just a few small changes, and your space will instantly become more sophisticated.
Have fun and always remember It’s So Boujee.
